Shampaan was established in 1975 and was then known as the Night Palace, it was the first Indian restaurant in Thurrock. The first owner tells stories of how people queued outside to get in and when they could not cope with the sheer number of customers they had to make the weekends booking only, people still waited outside for a table. Some customers used to come with their own containers and pots to take curry home, and then takeaways were introduced.

Shampaan features an extended and elegantly renovated restaurant which provides a sophisticated venue for lunch and dinner dining experiences.

Here at Shampaan we are determined to bring the highest quality Indian food to our customers.

We strive to maintain the highest standard of hygiene and cleanliness which has been recognised by Thurrock council who have awarded us five stars for food hygiene. This can be viewed on Thurrock council’s website.

We have a following of loyal customers who have been with us since the beginning, who appreciate the quality of our food and standard of our service.

We would like to thank all our customers for your continued support.
